Amazing journey !!
The Bene Israel, who also settled in Konkan, claim that the Chitpavans are also of Jewish origin. According to their version, these Jews later adopted Hinduism and later were called Chitpavans by the people in the area.

I reached here through Bede Clifford's videos. I find too many unexamined assumptions. For instance, You gave the example of Janmashtami Vs Christmas/Halloween. I do not think it is a loss of meaning. It is a shift in values. If it had to do with the 'meaning behind the symbolism' everyone would know the story and the mythology behind Christmas and Halloween. How many Indians know this you think? It is just the values underlying these festivals...like fun, celebration, coming together, forming a tribe. Even if it is 'commercially motivated'. So it's just about gifting and fancy dress parties. When a 'practicing Hindu' tries to 'correct people' - you are bringing in values of tradition, compliance, obedience, respect. Plus a lot of judgement. Thats not 'fun'. Nobody connects with judgement. I am sure the same thing would happen if people in US were judging Christians 'who are forgetting their traditions' and trying to 'lift them up' We can say that Indian festivals can be fun too. They ARE. That's why you see Indians in US forming Hindu associations and voluntarily celebrating and having fun. Cos there is nobody to judge. Whatever little they do, is fun. So maybe start there. Connect with what people value. Reduce the judgement. Humans connect more easily. Whether Hindu or not.
As always, Hariom & Thank you! Very appreciative🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Brute strength weapon like Mace, fine weapon like disc being carried by the hindu Gods Vishnu, vague reference to evolution in the avatars..
Ramayan indicated that those who dare to cross the sea, nature blesses them with victory.. Hindus only revered Hanuman but failed to make attempts with the sea faring. But the Europeans strictly followed it and became victorious in discovering the new world and colonized the Americas, Africa, Australasia..
Image of the hindu Gods - Vishnu clearly shows 4 arms indicating direct reference to bipedalism.. Hindus don't observe these things.. Also finest weapon tool like disc..
Jews have nothing in common, Judaism is a cult that seeks to impose new world order. Hindus are not cultish at all in that sense.
The context of modernity and material richness should not be attached to Religions. All so called modernity is temporary and minute in the context of unlimited time. The concepts that are genuine and can be reasoned only should be taken to check similarity. Eg. a question such as if God is one and he created all, why did he create multiple religions and then make them fight ? How does Judaism answer this fundamental question ? How does Hinduism or Vedas answer this question ? Let us discuss this and enlighten ourselves. If getting richer or being so called modern is part of religions, there wouldnt be religions at all!
I've been to this temple in PA.. Beautiful Serene place.. Very caring and welcoming people in the temple :)
